Manchester United can now turn their attention to one of their biggest matches of their season after getting off the mark in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Harry Maguire’s 72nd minute header ensured the Reds beat FC Copenhagen 1-0 at Old Trafford. Andre Onana also played a pivotal role in the victory, producing a sensational penalty save in the dying stages to preserve the points.

On the injury front, there was also good news as Sergio Reguilon returned to start against the Danes and Jonny Evans shook off his Sheffield United knock to make the bench. Erik ten Hag may have some more good news around the corner too, as MEN Sport’s injury round-up explains.

What we know: After featuring in training on Monday, Mainoo played his first football since his injury in July against FC Copenhagen in the UEFA Youth League. The midfielder played 45 minutes at Leigh Sports Village and appeared to get through the encounter without a hitch, setting him up nicely for a return to the first team soon.

Potential return date: October 29 vs Manchester City
