Roy Keane slammed for ‘terrible advice’ to Man Utd’s £72million signing Rasmus Hojlund as fans fume ‘dear me’

FANS were amazed as Roy Keane gave Rasmus Hojlund “terrible advice” during Manchester United’s 3-0 home loss against neighbours City.

Many observers were stunned by Old Trafford legend Keane urging Hojlund to “go down for a penalty” after the striker squirmed past a grappling challenge from John Stones.

The £72million Dane – still goalless in the Prem since his summer arrival – successfully stayed on his feet but took the ball too far wide to get in a shot on goal.

City then took control, with an Erling Haaland double and a late clincher from Phil Foden.

Sky Sports Pundit Keane said:”I think he’s [Hojlund] got to go down for the penalty. I’m not saying cheat… but we see it all the time.”

Some fans responded furiously to his comments – but others agreed with the former midfield tough guy.

One posted: “Terrible advice… Tut tut”.

A similar opinion was: “Roy Keane wanting a player to cheat. Dear me.”

And a third viewer was amused by an ex-player with a fierce reputation dishing out such a verdict.

He wrote: “Big scary hard man Roy Keane telling Hojlund to go down with no contact. Fairs.”

But plenty of observers backed Keane – with a few appearing to suggest Hojlund had been naive not to tumble over.

One said: “Agree with Keane there at half time. Hojlund had to go down either when Stones was behind him or when he went past Ederson.”

Another insisted: “Absolutely true from Keane. Hojlund should go down there. City’s players are experienced, the young striker not.”
