Messi was criticized for not being worthy of winning the Golden Ball, C.Ronaldo reacted unexpectedly

In a post criticizing Messi for not being worthy of winning the Golden Ball, C.Ronaldo had a strange reaction.

October 31, Lionel Messi won the 8th Golden Ball of his career awarded by France Football magazine (France). Before the awards ceremony, many experts predicted that Messi would win this award. Therefore, the results of the election are not too surprising.

However, many people are not satisfied with this result. Among them is the editor-in-chief of AS newspaper, Tomas Roncero. He analyzed: “It’s true that Messi won the 2022 World Cup but with 6 penalties. The World Cup has also passed 10 months. Messi has won 8 Golden Balls but he only deserved it 5 times.

Messi is holding Andres Iniesta or Xavi’s Golden Ball. He also received the award that should have gone to Robert Lewandowski and now Erling Haaland. Lewandowski won 6 tournaments in one year, and Haaland is the top scorer of every tournament.

After this post appeared, C.Ronaldo pressed the “Like” button. Besides, the Portuguese player also commented with four “laughing until tears” emojis, implicitly agreeing with Mr. Tomas Roncero’s analysis.

In recent years, C. Ronaldo has continuously been absent from the Golden Ball award ceremony because he knew he could not win the award. The 38-year-old player is not even on the voting list this year.

This is not the first time the Portuguese superstar agreed with an article criticizing Messi. In 2021, the striker also commented “Factos” (roughly translated: Truth) on the article saying that Messi does not deserve to win the Golden Ball.

C.Ronaldo’s chance to win the Golden Ball is still in the future, even though this player switched to Al Nassr in the Saudi Arabia national championship. At the age of 38, CR7 still desires to attend Euro 2024 and even the 2026 World Cup .
