Legends Ricardo Carvalho, Michael Essien, Samuel Eto’o and Gianfranco Zola will all be returning to the Stamford Bridge on 5 August

Blues heroes Ricardo Carvalho, Michael Essien, Samuel Eto’o and Gianfranco Zola will all be returning to the Stamford Bridge pitch to take part in the Game4Ukraine fundraising match in August.

The quartet of former Chelsea men will be joining fellow ex-Blue Andriy Shevchenko and current Arsenal full-back Oleksandr Zinchenko, who are captaining the two sides made up of football legends and celebrities to help restore a school damaged by the war in Ukraine, guaranteeing that 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren can learn in a safe and stable environment again.

The match, which kicks off at the Bridge at 6pm on Saturday 5 August, will feature some of the greatest names to have played the sport in the modern era. With 128 goals and 813 appearances for Chelsea between them, not to mention an impressive combined total of 25 trophies at the club, the four Blues legends confirmed already certainly fit that bracket.

ZOLA’S EUROPEAN MAGIC!

Gianfranco Zola confirmed his place in Chelsea’s history with this heroic super sub moment by scoring the winner in the 1998 Cup Winners’ Cup final against Stuttgart seconds after coming off the bench!

Gianfranco Zola is regarded by many to be the very best ever to have pulled on the Chelsea shirt and was a key part of the continental revolution in SW6 in the late 90s and early 00s. In addition to his exquisite talent and widely respected gentlemanly demeanor, Zola will always be remembered for his role in bringing silverware back to west London, inspiring our first FA Cup win for nearly 30 years with a brilliant assist in the 1997 final, in addition to scoring the decisive goal himself in our European Cup Winners’ Cup triumph the following year.

He was soon followed at Chelsea by classy centre-back Ricardo Carvalho and powerhouse midfielder Michael Essien, who were team-mates at the Bridge for a whole new era of success, winning two Premier League titles and three FA Cups together, while Essien was also part of the squad which lifted the Champions League trophy for the first time in 2012.

Samuel Eto’o may have spent less time at the Blues, but is still remembered fondly for his contribution in the solitary 2013/14 season, including 12 goals, most notably netting a hat-trick to give us a 3-1 Premier League win over Manchester United.

You can make sure you are at Stamford Bridge to see those four Chelsea heroes, plus many more still to be announced, back in action on 5 August. Tickets are now available on general sale in all four stands of the stadium here, up to 20 tickets per person, priced £28 for adults and £15 for concessions.

Supporters can also watch the Game4Ukraine in style and luxury, with seat-only packages available for £50 per person and full hospitality from £120 per person.
