The 58-year-old star has played the role of Neo, a computer programmer, and his co-star Carrie-Anne Moss played the role of his love interest Trinity. In the beloved film series, both the stars have performed many dangerous feats without stunt doubles and even suffered on-set injuries. 

Anne Moss once revealed that she broke her leg while filming the third sequel: The Matrix Revolutions, and claimed she only told the makers when they wrapped up the shooting to avoid causing any trouble on the set, as this was one of the significant career opportunities for her at the time.

The physical strength required for Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss’ roles in The Matrix franchise film series compelled them to train rigorously, resulting in severe to minor on-set injuries. Anne Moss once revealed that when she got the role of Trinity in the original film, it was a significant opportunity for her. 

The actress shared that she injured her ankle while filming The Matrix but stayed tight-lipped about it to ensure she wouldn’t lose her job. Anne Moss again suffered a severe injury when she was filming the third sequel: The Matrix Revolutions, and this time she broke her leg while doing the high-wire stunt rehearsal. Reflecting on the injury, the actress told IGN: 

“I broke my leg on a wire. I broke my leg the first week of training. It was a challenge to overcome right off the bat. I came in really gung-ho and ready to do it, and then I got an obstacle given to me in the very beginning. But I’m all for obstacles to overcome. We trained for six months before we started training. I came to work every day and watched them train.”

Actors involved in The Matrix film series trained hard for months to learn martial arts techniques and complex wire-fu elements to portray the action segments of their respective roles. The Wachowskis-directed, The Matrix Revolutions stars Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne, Carrie-Anne Moss, Hugo Weaving, Jada Pinkett Smith, Monica Bellucci, Lambert Wilson, and Mary Alice. The movie earned mixed reviews and grossed $427 million at the global box office.
