Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, the sequel to DC’s $1B surprise hit, releases in December, but only 30 seconds of footage have been shown so far.
- Audiences are growing impatient for the release of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom trailer, with only four months left until the film hits theaters.
- Warner Bros. Discovery has not yet started the marketing for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, despite having finished principal photography and reshoots.
- The lack of promotion for the film so far is raising concerns, but if the movie proves to be high-quality, it should still attract viewers.
The DCEU audience is growing impatient for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom as a trailer has not come out yet, with only four months left to go before it heads to theaters. While the new DC Universe is on its way, the DCEU still has Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom coming out, as the movie will mark the proper end of the franchise. Despite having finished principal photography and a number of reshoots, the marketing for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom hasn’t even started yet.
To this point, there has been more Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom merchandise revealed than there has been footage. There hasn’t even been an Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom teaser trailer released by Warner Bros. Discovery, and they are not moving the film away from its December release date.

As the clock is ticking, @NebsGoodTakes recently recaptured all of the Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom footage that has emerged over the last few years. While the Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom sizzle includes a few scenes, it mostly contains BTS footage with narration by various crew members as well as director James Wan.
When Will The Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom Trailer Release?
With only a couple of months remaining before Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’s theatrical release, it begs the question of when a trailer will actually come out. Given all the BTS issues and creative changes, it is not shocking that Warner Bros. Discovery has yet to commit to the proper marketing. There are also the Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA strikes to take into account, as none of the cast members and writers can promote Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
At this point, it would not be a major surprise if there were minimal trailers for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom trailer between now and December. The Flash had a huge marketing push that still saw the film struggle at the box office, and it’s possible that DC/WB is hoping positive word of mouth will be enough. Of course, the SAG-AFTRA strike resolving would also open more doors for marketing.
Even if marketing ramps up in full sooner than later, it’s understandable that the lack of promotion so far is raising some concerns. With the first Aquaman movie crossing the $1 billion mark, it seems as though the sequel would warrant a sizable marketing run. Of course, marketing only does so much, and if Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom proves to be a high-quality movie, it should still get viewers into seats.
