Angelina Jolie calls adopted daughter Zahara ‘extraordinary African girl’

The actress proudly called Zahara an “extraordinary African girl” in an interview with climate activist Vanessa Nakate.

According to Harpers Bazaar, Angelina Jolie discussed Black Lives Matter and African life with Austrian climate activist Vanessa Nakate for Time 100 magazine.

“My daughter is from Ethiopia and I have learned a lot from her. Zahara is not only my daughter, my family, she is also an extraordinary African girl,” the star said.

Angelina Jolie often walks with her daughter on the street, shopping.

The Maleficent actor added: “She has a connection to her country and continent through the color of her skin. And I can only stand behind to support Zahara.”

Previously, she shared that she was afraid that her daughter would become a woman of color in the US: “There is always racism and discrimination here. I can protect my daughter, but I can’t protect people of color in America. I am even afraid that she will be discriminated against.”

In June, Angelina donated $200,000 to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund – to support the fight against racism.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie always protect their daughter.

In 2005, Jolie adopted Zahara from an orphanage in Ethiopia when she was 6 months old. The actress also adopted Maddox, in Cambodia. After that, she and Brad Pitt adopted Pax Thien in Vietnam. A source told ET: ‘Brad and Angelina have struggled for a long time to come up with a parenting deal. The two have no plans to make up or communicate with each other. The only link is to take care of your 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren’s future.”
